and if yes, would it be reasonable to suggest that they will lay you off w/o telling of the reason as now it is a good time to do it ?

Impossible w/out court order. Possible if you are using company assets, possible but unlikely. It is a hassle and they would need to put in a major legal effort and have a case for a court order (e.g., physical threat)
They wer ignorant, they asked a question and learned something. Don't bash them for that.
Wow, paranoid much? Lets reverse that, if I were to post bad things about you on this, a third party site, would you be able to find out who I am? You'd require access to the website's servers and logs, and then with that information, you'd need to get the corresponding account owner from the ISP, which typically requires a court order. All of which is hassle and time intensive. You're deluding yourself if you think SLB cares in the least.
No they cannot legally, I know it for sure. Otherwise I would have been fired by now.
Schlumberger is hands down the worst company I have ever worked for, track away you heartless bastards.
What do I care? It's not like they can fire me again!
I would not do it from an SLB device for sure. Technically it's possible to track at home, they have all the means, it's just no legal.
If you are using company network they can know if you are visiting the site. You are safe using your home network...
That's technically impossible
