A lot of major companies received special discounts from airlines for business class seats if they use the airline exclusively, or fly more than a certain number of trips per year. Since 2008, businesses have cut back on travel expenses and these seats would otherwise remain unsold. The plebians, of course, must still ride coach. They will be expected to finish at least 8 hours worth of work while someone else's "knee-biter" screams in their ear all the way to China.
Wow a fortune 500 company, and their VPs are traveling business class??! Unheard of! Someone get me my pitchfork!
I'm part of the QCA CE team, and when i had to travel in mid-December, i was told to book economy...but then i see some VP level execs still printing out their business class flight itineraries. There's still a clear distinction between the haves and have nots.
And they use company phones to find dates online while traveling internationally. Business trips are an escape from the wives and families.
