Is it true Target CIO is fired ?

He was forced into early retirement, but is staying on as an advisor, which means he was forced out and was given a choice of being fired or early retirement. It looks best for him if he went for the early retirement. The new guy from Tesco is in. Honestly, Bob was a great leader, and he knew that Target culture was bad for IT. He was trying to change it, and the others didn't like his brutal honesty.
Anonymous61542 - yes I am paying attention. While his degrees are as you have stated, his background and years of work have been leading IT. The MBA gets him the needed respect from the executives, but his IT experience get the respect from those of us who live in TTS
Anon TTS ... you do know that his degree is Business Administration and an MBA...or are you not paying attention.
Bob is the only good thing that has happened to TTS since Janet Schalk was let go (pushed out by Steinhafel). Bob is a true IT leader and is getting us heading the correct direction!

I only had to read 1 email from Bob to know he only cared about his own legacy. Wants to be written about in HBR for all the great things he did for Target in his mind. Accomplished nothing.
He's been off work fire past two days.

I liked him and I really hope he's still running the show. If I see another kid in a suit with a 'strategic' word in his/her title and MBA diploma I am checking out from here forever. arrrrghhh
When was the last time there was a "Breakfast with Bob"...What ever happened to those weekly emails he use to sen?
I've heard the same rumor and I really hope it's not true. Bob was saying all of the right things that needed to change with TTS. He did, however, go abruptly quiet after Brian came aboard. If they replace him with another technologically-clueless MBA-type, we should all start looking for jobs.

If it is true, new CIO will fire all existing VPs and promote all directors as VPs. Talk about growth. LOL

Yes it is. I can't tell you how I know but it is true Bob is out.
CIO is new - old CIO was fired last Spring. Would be an awful move that would cost TGT a lot of money. No news yet in the formal / serious forums.
