Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Project Managers and Business Analysts Layoffs 2015

I heard this week that once again they are sending PM and BA roles to Target India. Clearly the PM function is something that Target doesn't care about or doesn't understand. If they need only a Project Coordinator who checks the boxes, yes, it makes sense to send some back-office person in India and not pay $360 an hour to an Accenture professional on site who demands first class on his way from NYC and a four star hotel stay. On the other hand, a PM has to be present to interact with the team and be a leader who tackles the tough issues on site. Anyways, the cost savings are obviously attractive, but it is a major pain a few months down the road.

I don't wish to see anyone get laid off but we have way, WAY too many people who do nothing but act as know-nothing facilitators, make pointless meetings all over the place, and contribute nothing of value.

Is that just like before the .com cuts the coo and cross said they were investing in .com and multi channel. I hate to tell you this but leadership has a tendency of saying one thing and doing another. Got to keep the old strategy close to the hip.

This just can't be true. It's 100% contradictory to everything that has been said about "integrating with the business". If the CIO didn't even like PM's and BA's moving out to North Campus (so he put a stop to it), there is NO way he puts them in Bangalore.
