NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares of QUALCOMM (QCOM) were down 0.8% to $70.81 in pre-market trading today after Drexel Hamilton downgraded the company to "hold" from "buy" and lowered its price target to $75 from $100, as "process and competitive questions reduce visibility."

"With a high-end baseband lead intact and falling mobile application, processor prices bring the question of whether such suffices to sustain chipset margins. Intel Corp. (INTC) is moving quickly to 14nm Trigate, while leading-edge Qualcomm parts are still coming out on 20nm planar processes and older ones on 28nm planar," Drexel Hamilton said.

Intel also appears set on commoditizing low-mid-range LTE for incorporation in their mobile processor offerings, conjuring a price war, analysts said, adding that Intel looks to incorporate its lesser but increasingly capable LTE baseband into now essentially free, or even subsidized, application processors.

oh lord, now it really IS a yahoo finance board.

Shorty, you gotta leverage the F up and put your house and wife up as collateral. That is real man's conviction.

when did this turn into a Yahoo finance message board. All that's missing is an "TO DA MOOOOOOOON!"

At some point they need to stop subsidizing and make actual money. This isn't AMZN, where profits don't matter after 20 years in business.
