We all heard the rumor that UPS might be planning a large reorg with possibly some units being absorbed. I am not sure if this is true, but I've been with UPS for about 8 years now and nothing will surprise me any more. I think that the executives want to simplify things and we'll always want to operate more efficiently. Now, if we want to be more efficient, we have to do more with less which will imply that we'll be letting some folks go in 2015. I have feeling, that we'll see some changes very early, let's say Q1 2015, we might see large number of layoffs at that time. Again, just me predicting what's going to happen without having any inside info.

I've been with UPS for just under a year. I know there's going to be a change. With Amazon purchasing their fist plane, "Change is gonna come"
If you wouldn't recommend this company why don't you go to Wal-mart and be happy
2016 will be the best year on record
Good thread
Abilene Texas feeder department is about to be moved to Ft. Worth causing a loss of 30 feeder jobs in Abilene. About 15 jobs will be moved to Ft. Worth with the opportunity for about 1/2 of the feeder drivers to follow their work but the rest will have to either go back to the package delivery dept. at the bottom of the seniority roster or retire....
We are doing just fine, Q1 will be one of the best quarter we ever had
Also, if we are talking about layoffs, we might want to focus on the specific group within the company - not everyone will be affected the same - here are all subsidiaries listed: The UPS Store, UPS Supply Chain Solutions, UPS Capital, UPS Airlines, UPS Express Critical, UPS Freight, UPS Professional Solutions, UPS Logistics and UPS Mail Innovations
