I have to agree with 37864. The balance changed. I still do my job, but I no longer care about the company. My work life balance is much better because I no longer put in all the extra time to ensure that everything is done correctly and on time. I still strive to do a good job, but only within the boundries of a normal day. Follett lost my commitment to the company.

You are exactly right. On April 1 2013, my opinion of Follett and my job changed. I now work the bare minimum of hours, take no work home with me anymore and really don't stress out about stuff going on at work. My work life balance is now excellent and where it should have been long ago. Follett owes you nothing and you owe Follett nothing. Fair days work for a fair days pay. When you work overtime for free, care about the job more than you should, check emails all night long that does nothing except build the expectation that Follett owes you something for your commitment. Ask 1,300 employees that were laid off - they owe you nothing - not even an explanation for fairness.
If you meant merchandising systems...that was KMc's team.
Who runs merchandising? Do you mean marketing, cuz GM is not heaven either. The positive attitude you think you see is a lie.
Everyone needs to take responsibility for their attitudes, work ethic and level of professionalism. Many folks seem to want to blame and play the victim. When you are hired, you are being paid to do a job for the employer. That is really it...everything else is a plus.
I agree, but employee positive employee attitudes can make a difference. Just look at some of the teams like merchandising, warehouse systems etc.
