Apparently, a third party consulting firm has been hired by Target to look at the various roles and departments at HQ. I don't know how many other groups know about this. But apparently we (departments) are all coming up with this three-year strategic vision of what we want our departments to look like. At least in my group they are touting this as a three-year vision plan without mentioning it's part of the overall work being done by the consulting firm. In the end, I'm guessing the firm is looking at and will recommend where the upcoming round of cuts should come from. Anyone else hear anything about this?

40 page deck for 4 million dollars, what is that, something like 100K per page, 100 words per page, 1K per word. Nice work Bain.
The new CIO said that when Bain came in with a 40 page deck, he basically dismissed them.
Bain is who made the .com changes.
That is so funny because at the store level we feel that HQ hired a bunch of college grads that have NO CLUE how to work in the real world or how to respect the team members that keep Target in business. Every new exec should have to work in the store and DCs as a team member to get the real way things run.

Lets hope they get it right and term all the entitled baby boomers in management holding the company back. Not to generalize everyone in that age bracket... But a majority make no effort to improve.... They just want to sustain the status quo. Funny how the CEO says we want to have candid discussions, but that group of people have made it clear it is their way or the highway and any challenge, no matter how tactful or logical, is treated as insubordination.
What consulting firm is doing the study? If its Mercer you are more or less guaranteed cuts within 6 months.
Last time that happened you had 2 major layoffs.
FYI - Department "Vision Plans" turn into "Company Requirements" for Outsourcing.
