....there are some people that are only doing 20 to 30 hours a week. Some managers are not minding the store.

One of the configuration management guys.
Who got walked out?
1984 was meant to be a warning not a guide!
Looks like David Shirm was not minding his store.....Had to walk one associate out. Probably wasn't a fun talk with Vin.
Did anyone thing the badge process was for any other purpose? It is, and has always been, a way to catch those they want to catch. Same with internet usage. And as far as using your phone all day, sure, but I saw an IT guy get fired for just that after several warnings.
And still no cuts in ops.
they've had the data for a while. rumors about this started back when they put the badge gates in at each entryway. that they are even talking about it should be an indication that someone in management is paying attention.
Are they just warning associates or are they acting on the data?
Physically in the building doesn't mean you are working. Logged in twenty four hours doesn't mean you are working. You can bring your own smartphone or tablet to work and browse internet all day.
doesn't matter to me. I surf all the time while typing, on conference calls, etc. multitasking
Why would one care? Perhaps because there will never be recognition for months of nights and weekends worked on projects with too aggressive deadlines and that this tracking is demeaning and intrusive?
True. Manager or associate slacker.
why would you care if you are not a slacker
