Heard a rumor going around at HQ that those with manager titles but no actual direct reports should have reason to be concerned in the future when additional layoffs are announced. Anybody else hear or confirm the same thing?

You'd be surprised at how many managers there are that don't do anything or that don't have any actual direct reports other than just statusing with someone.
This kind of makes sense, does not it? What are you managing if you have no resources?
