Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

In regards, and in reply to my previous post: : Here in Texas, over the last two years...

To answer your question/concerns, most of our team members were full time (and many had full time insurance), but over the last two years, and especially the last 6 months, hours were slowly whittled away so that these people became part-timers with part-time insurance. And then those part-timers began to receive even less hours and lost their part-time insurance. While we do have a very few (maybe a handful) that are now full time, these are mostly team leads, and I see them facing the "hour axe" soon, if not already.

It also infuriates us how Human Resources puts all these signs/stickers up about the upcoming enrollment for insurance, etc,-- signs/stickers that are worded so happily and full of joyous enthusiasm. Since most of the store members no longer qualify, it's insulting. And make sure you have the signs in Spanish too, even though if you work at Target you are suppose to know English. This pandering infuriates us as well, but it seems to be getting worse, especially in the last year. There are so many increasing examples of this around the store, and many customers and employees do not like it at all.

To add to my above comment: Yes, part-time employees are getting less hours, at the same time part-time insurance is no longer being offered by Target, so that, as we were told, this "gives us a chance to explore our options with Obamacare and other insurance companies..." Wow, thanks Target...I'm sure you had our best interests at heart.
