We will survive, we are a well managed company, ouperforming ALL peers. Stores will become smaller, there will be less of them, enterprise component will be bigger, online will grow, we will morph and thrive.

This is the beginning of the end. Like Circuit City and Borders, this company is going chapter 11. If they do survive Staples products will only be available online.

There are much better options than Staples. You can go on Amazon.com, Walmart, W.B. Mason and other retailers who will give you a better price. You don't have to deal with rude associates that don't know the product or care.

The store in my area had terrible customer service and I stopped shopping there over a decade ago. The long lines and managers that didn't know the product made me shop online and elsewhere. I am sure there were good stores, but not in my area.

It will be interesting to see how CT going to be affected by the layoffs. There are currently two stores in my area that are not doing well I would bet that they will be the first to go.
