Left the company 2 1/2 years ago and the feeling of being free from their hold on your soul was a breath of fresh air! My spouse always said they didn't care about anything but bottomlines but I didn't believe it; as a former dept manager the company consumed my life. Even at home on holidays I was always thinking of or doing work. And for what? You develop stratagies and plans for better performance but then you don't get the resources needed for your associates to do the job properly and then u get to discipline them. So we set u up to fail. The ethical problems it caused for me were too much. I actually cared for my associates and wanted to see these good hard working associates succeed but the higher ups who were so far removed from the proccesses to realize or believe there were issues with the demand, didn't care - everyone was replaceable in their eyes. After quitting I sometimes would catch myself worrying about my old dept when market dropped, about all the work, that's the hold on your soul. Now I read below and pray for those left riding the storm. It only seems to be getting worse!
