My story is fairly long but I'll try to sum it up for you who are reading this discussion board - I was a Director of Software Development at Sabre (somewhere in Eastern Europe)- I was responsible for People, Software Development for a critical product line and had to oversee work of a large team of people focusing on architecture soft devel. And business analysis (my team peaked 60 people) – I’ve spent over 8 years with the company, countless long days, some overnighters, many weekends, etc. I was a hard worker, delivered as expected and better and then one day three years ago I was called by my boss, given a 5 minute talk on how we needed to control costs and I was let go. That was it! After everything I’ve done for the company and all value I delivered I was released with a simple ‘we need to cut cost’ – I would never go back to work for Sabre again, not in a million years and I would suggest that you think twice if you are still with the company if this is a place that you want to invest your time into. God bless!
