From CNBC: I am with CHK and I can tell you that most of our folks recognize that something needs to be done and that cuts are necessary. At the same time, the whole process (layoffs) was not managed properly from the communications side as information leaked and it different rumors started spreading. There is a site called CHKGarden (invitation only) and you can see gazillion comments on this topic - people just do not know what's going on and then rumors start to spread. You can see some of the comments on Twitter and there is probably few hundred messages posted on TheLayoff.com noting all kinds of rumors (several reporters are also soliciting input for their investigative reporting there too). This whole media coverage thing does not help at all - for example this article quoted KFOR NBC OKC as a source, but KFOR used TheLayoff.com as a source and anyone can post on that site and I can bet that at least 50% posts over there is bogus. So where is journalism here and are we really being served rumors instead of facts. It's a pity - CHK used to be a great company and I hope we'll bounce back!
