Not necessarily greed folks. Yes it sucks but you had to have seen it coming. All the bulking up of staff for the MK conversion plus the additional head count obtained via the merger equals OVERSTAFFED. I too saw some good friends and good people let go. It was not random. Remember the "blocking" methodology preached about at review time? This used (at least partially) that. Meaning the lowest 15% or so based on performance reviews. I am not crazy about the way it went down today but it had to happen. Remember it is never too late to make yourselves invaluable to your employer.
