Sandra Tillet is not coming back, she left to a better place, so did most people

Sandra Tillet is not coming back, she left to a better place, so did most people. People move on to better companies and are happy. The last few months at CR were unbearable, they blamed me for so many of the issues that were not my fault. Its like everyone is trying to save their job so they point the blame instead of working as a team to resolve the issues. This issue arises from a bad people department that is inept on how to encourage team building in departments, instead they gossip and cause issues inside of departments. Its very sad what happened to this company. Jenny had a complete disrespect for the team that was in place when she arrived, and made too many drastic changes too quickly, and we were still trying to get out from under Jenny's mess when I left. I was not with the company in San Diego, I was part of the team hired in April of 2010, so I am not bitter about the SD move. But I will tell you that this team Jenny put in place walked around like their shit did not stink and whatever they were going to do was the best idea ever, boy were they wrong. This team could not have been more off with their strategies, or even simple things like running the business. There are a few things they need to change, the first (I am not the first to say this) is they need fewer execs and more people doing work. I know the budget is tight, that is why some of the execs need to go, if we had more money in the budget, then I would just say hire more staff. But because of the limited funds they really need to hire more people in place of a very overpaid executive team that spends way too much money and is over compensated for the little work they do. Second, the people team is corrupt and unethical, I am going to leave it at that and not go into details. Third, they need to fix the allocation/inventory levels at the stores. Fourth, get the product to the store at the right time. Fifth, get the right product out there. Sixth, the quality improvement was a joke, thanks for ruining the margins. Seventh, before I left some of the people in store ops had great ideas, you should listen to them, they are closest to the field... they include when you cut stores to base hours, the slight improvement in margin is offset by higher shrinkage, but those extra hours could have been used to sell more and drive the sales. Eight, some of the merchants are a bad fit, we need to realize that and replace them with merchants with relevant experience... this does not include Old Navy experience, it includes F21, Wet Seal, UO, etc. Tenth, Design and Trend spends a lot of money, A LOT, but contributes very little, VERY LITTLE... this is a great way to find some extra money to fuel the other departments. Eleventh, don't lie, about anything, especially the finanicals... Yes Patti is funny in her presentations, but honesty is greatly appreciated when there is no transperancy into the numbers. Twelveth, admit mistakes, we know this new management team is human and made TONS of mistakes, its ok to admit that you may have been wrong about something. I just want to end by saying there are a lot of much better companies out there, so if you are feeling down and getting blamed for so many mistakes, its ok, things will get better, but you will likely have to get motivated and look for something externally. Merry Chistmas everyone.
