Thread regarding Charlotte Russe Holding Inc. layoffs

I have reflected since my time at CR and have taken a long look in the mirror

I have reflected since my time at CR and have taken a long look in the mirror. Honesty is, that yes, when we were hired, we were told very clearly there is “US” and “THEM”. “US” were the ones who knew everything about business. “Them” were the idiots (that term was used by many, including the People Team) or better known as the CR people. We had no idea what we were getting into. Thanks to our longevity at Old Navy, we only knew how to do things the Old Navy way. Most have never worked in other environments or else very few. Old Navy is not specialty retail, not even close. We or “US” had private meetings and side jokes about “CR” or them. When we wanted a Navy person in, it was nothing to make a space; we paid big and got rid of the CR person in the position. During my time at CR, I met people who were incredible at their job. They taught me so much during my time, and it broke my heart when we started laying them off to make room for the “new” Navy positions. I left because I realized, I am not one of “THEM” anymore. Look in the mirror, we came in, did not listen to how things were done, because it was out of our comfort zone, so we changed it and not in a positive way. Look at Refuge? Hiring Designers? Ruining vendor relations? Accepting poor quality product? Ruining the CR Brand…. From one of “US” to “Them”, I am sorry for what has happened and hope it can be fixed. As for me, I am now working at a retailer with a few old CR people and we are on fire. It is all about great talent and being a team.
