This is a very similar story to Linens 'N Things which took place a few years prior. Both were acquired by private equity firms during tough times. Both private equity firms over paid. Both companies were negative cash flow and bled cash. Both need cash infusions. Both sent in operating partners to cut expenses. In the case of Linens N' Things, the private equity firm got sick of throwing good money after a bad company, and threw in the towel. How long do you think CR has before Advent does the same to them? Same story, we've seen it before, for this of you that do not know what is coming you should brush up on your business history and take emotion out of the equation - it will all then make sense.
