Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

Expected mix of employees

Supposedly for IT, the mix will be 40% Anthem employees, 30% Legato and 30% from other contracting companies. No idea what current mix is. No idea ETA to achieve this mix.

I checked out the Glassdoor reviews and found them shocking.

This one calls it a slum.

One of the worst ever work culture you would get in your entire life believe me. If your a South Indian well and truly you would get some help but people coming from other parts of India get ready to be humiliated , mentally tortured . Believe me in short get ready to end your career. I came from cmm level V company only where Anthem was my client . Just i felt like coming from a Five star hotel to a slum this is the work environment over here .

Advice to Management

Stop torturing people please people other than south India are also human beings they also have fathers , mothers children wife etc etc . try to treat them as a human being also.

Direct from Glassdoor:

https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Legato-Health-Technologies-Reviews-E2036118.htm

Free Insurance for 6 family members. -> Awesome Free Food and Transport for Technology Tower. -> Extra Shift allowance for 12-9 , 2-11. -> Work from Home whenever Required. -> Lots of opportunity to grow. -> Decent work life balance and cool culture.

Sounds great, the worse they treat the Americans, the better the INDIA staff get treated.

Discrimination?

My S. Indian born manager laughed that some American born employees had a hard time understanding offshore workers. No diversity. I was the 10% born in the USA. S. Indian Americans complain the environment is toxoc because lack of diversity.

Look at the current diversity within IT or should I say a lack thereof. All new people being hired are Indian. They are slowly replacing associates having long tenure with young, male, Indians. Anthem only promotes Indians in IT. How is HR not challenging this? All you need to do is look at the org charts and you can see who is taking over this company. ELT makes comments like “hire Indians only as they work 24/7 without complaining”. This is happening in the USA, when will the madness end? When the Indian nationality has completely taken over the IT department

While I don't doubt your estimated percent breakdowns, the way this is stated may create a false impression. Legato is fully owned by Anthem, so their associates are actually Anthem employees. The only real distinction is they are offshore in India, so the jobs they have filled are replacing those of Anthem associates which were onshore in the U.S.A. This is where Anthem will tell you they are actually in-sourcing IT jobs at a greater percentage, and will only be using contractors at a 30% rate going forward. While that is true since Legato associates are are not contractors, what Anthem won't publicize is that approximately half of the Anthem IT associates going forward will be Indian nationals physically located in that country. So, in addition to the lost American jobs, America will also be losing tax revenue to India. It's a lose-lose situation for everyone -- except for Anthem as a corporation.
