Ran into a former DXC Security customer

DXC is a laughing stock in security circles. “Basically on par with the Indian providers”. That should tell you something.

Can't say that surprises me, the account I used to work on hadn't done any OS security patching in 6 years. I guess things aren't going to get better any time soon with this announcement...

Exactly. I thought the whole strategy of the layoffs was to reduce the cost structure to that of Indian competitors. Globalization at work.

I also work with DXC customers and the customers noted DXC security issues but mainly on firmware patching of endpoints and switches (as their own vulnerability scanning suggested DXC is the weak point); yet DXC lack any funds to maintain the network. Suffice to say the clients I work with are getting concerned at the high level of detected exposures and vulnerabilities detected on the DXC network and want to close their DXC contract to address the risk.
