I'm hoping to get laid off as long as I get my 8 weeks severance which is what we're currently getting for people with my tenure. (I've seen the official docs) If I get it I hope to retool and get another job. I'm so miserable at my job it is making me physically sick....

I hope so. But I do feel sorry for all the genuine, hardworking employees of all disciplines who are being shafted by this abomination of a company.
