Good its is such a c-appy product. Why in the world would anyone implement a product with software raid when hardware is so cheap it’s ridiculous
i've got a job offer for better salary with Isilon support but I'm really concern with future of this product.
Any suggestions if I should take this opportunity or not?
Cyclone and/or Trident, everyone who works on those project are insiders and corrupt politics. Only those who want to protect their jobs are part of it. Only if Dell can realize it. Forget about 2019, even next year it’s not possible. Good for NDC and Hop, but bad for Dell.
I bet 20$ trident is not ga this year
"who does software raid anymore"
I have some bad news for you about nearly every other current and future Dell EMC storage product.
Good Isilon is such a outdated product, who does software raid anymore. Especially with Flash storage
Or whatever other code name they want to use.
It's a real lesson in loyalty for some, but it's a good thing to not keep the false narrative going for so long either.
Trident.... What a load of BS. It's a bloated too big to fail piece of junk.
Someone is feeding you some false warm fuzzies about it.
Isilon is dead wood anyways, with Trident coming out we don't need those people
I just got the list of those let go, 23 in total.
writing has been on the wall for that site since well before the dell buyout.
They let go all of the support staff except for the DSE positions. Those salaries are paid for by the customer support contract. Product was sub par before. Good luck now by letting all of their most senior support engineers go. Most had 7 to 9 years on the job and we're given 2 months severance.
Rough math the people in that center it was 17 but that accounts for about 98% of the support at that site
Over 20
It was about 17 including management
Wow
i heard it was 15 or so... not 30. can anyone confirm the number?
