Redundancy Terms

Could anyone tell me what the redundancy terms are? Is it the bare minimum thats legal in the UK plus a months salary, or do DXC have something else?

I have worked for CSC/DXC 3 years now, but have no idea what the statutory is before the extra 1 month...

Under the EDS agreement in Australia it is 3 weeks pay for every year of service and capped at 40 weeks pay, plus 4 weeks gardening leave if aged under 40. If you are aged over 40 then add another week of paid gardening leave. Then add in unused long service leave (generally tax free).

Depending upon your final salary on leaving the departure lounge then more than likely the WFR payout is tax free. A large number of-EDS employees have been WFR'd but there are a few remaining in management positions but the word is that they will get the chop by December 2019.

So i found out that its a week salary for every year (for me 3 years)

Plus £2800 for CSC leaving staff

Plus £1500 if you leave on good terms (Hand over work)

Plus the 1 Months Salary

So in summary

3 weeks Salary

£2800

£1500

1 month salary bonus

And then yo months salary you worked for, which is taxed

Legacy ES/HPE terms are 1 week per year if 18-21, 2 weeks per year if 22-40 and 3 weeks per year if 41-65 from what i have been told by HR

Oh and if you were over 40 during any of those years service, its 1.5 weeks money for each of those years.

On an old (pre DXC) CSC contract it will be one weeks money for every year of service.

Its slightly better than UK legal minimum insofar as its not capped at £525 per week and neither is it limited to 20 years max.

Then on top of that, if you applied for VR and get it, you get another month on top.

It will be tax and NI free up to £30,000.

I raised an HR case last year and had the following responses:

Please be informed that there is no change in the redundancy terms for the employees those who all hired before 01 September 2018. The new UK redundancy policy is only for the employees who all are hired post 01 September 2018. I have attached your terms and condition document for your reference.

There were two documents, one for ex CSC people for prior to the new company and one for ex HPE people prior to the new company. Your conditions should be those that were applicable to legacy CSC employees. You can ask HR for a copy of those conditions.

Keep copies of emails that you get from HR in the event of any legal challenge you might have to make. I have kept copies of everything in the event of having to go to a tribunal.
