In March, Windstream requested the court approve a 270-day extension of their exclusive period to file a plan from June 25, 2019 to March 23, 2020 to then be followed by a 60-day exclusive period to solicit votes for its plan.
That would have meant only Windstream management could file a reorganization plan during that period. After that creditors or hostile acquirers could file competing plans.
Today, the Unsecured Creditors Committee (UCC) responded. They said this was a complex bankruptcy and they understood the need for an extension. At the same time, they said a 270 day extension was too long. They said that Windstream management has agreed to trim their exclusivity request to 180 days (+60 days for voting).
