For those of us over 50, we do everything to push for diversity and inclusion. Unfortunately the younger generations are not doing the same for us. We are a lost diversity group and are discriminated against And the experience we have is not valued.

Financial recruiters here in NYC have started to put 5-8 years of experience only need apply. Then whine when jobs don't get filled and then defensive when more experienced folks call them out, saying the employer just wants this level.

It's discrimination in plan sight.

I definitely think there is an unsustainable age discrimination problem. People are living longer so society can't afford to toss people at 50 anymore. The article also mentions age discrimination being more significant for women over 40. They should just say companies like to discriminate against women period. When you're young you get discriminated against just because you could get pregnant. I have been asked on so many interviews if I am married or have children that it's ridiculous.
