Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

UK WFR news?

So has anyone that put in for VR in the UK yet heard whether they've got it?

Put expression of interest in almost straightaway. Original Email said they'd start informing people from June 3rd onwards, but so far nothing.

In Ireland, still nothing heard by anyone I know - either accepted or rejected. Has anyone been here been informed yet?

Into the 3rd week of waiting and still no news. I heard delay is due to pensions or something? I wish they would at least send a mail to give us a timeframe. If its a resource issue, I would happily volunteer my services to help them!

To be honest it's beyond a joke.

As if staff morale wasn't low enough, they are causing those who have applied to the VR scheme to hang on and hang on for a completely unreasonable amount of time. Some may be waiting to hear about other jobs, some may be wanting to move on with their lives and some may just want out of this mess of a company. I mean, some people are waiting from the day the email first dropped, whereas others who applied days after are being released. I couldn't wait any longer so I just gave notice - I feel that this is what DXC may be hoping staff do in order to save money on severance payments.

It shows both how out of touch the management are and a total lack of respect for their staff when they could not see that large numbers of staff would apply for the scheme. Measures should have been in place to cope with demand.

If the company exists in 6 months

Don't worry if people don't get their VR, there's likely to be another round of redundancies in the next round which at moment in Europe is at least every 6 months

Tomorrow, it will have been 3 weeks since I applied. Not a word from anyone at all other than the initial confirmation of receiving the application. I'm in Ireland.

I applied the day after we received the invitation. My line manager and account management have not approved the application, but I was asked today (Monday 17th) by my line manager if I have heard anything officia from HR yet - I haven't. And neither has a colleague on my team who also applied.

@9wrb

"If your manager declined your VR, can DXC over rule the decision?"

Yes - That is what the Labor (Labour) War Room is for - executive challenge to local line management decisions

A few in my office got the email last friday and we applied right at the start. If it is declined then you hear a lot sooner by worf of mouth from your manager.

Officially it can’t be appealed, but I suppose an email to the UK CFO, cc’ing the Global CFO might get it over-turned...

My manager, who approved my application, said HR is completely snowed under, so it may be middle to end of week before the last ones hear.

It’s not compulsory yet - did you mean statutory? Unless your employment contract states otherwise, standard CSC contracts pre Sep 1, 2018 did not apply the statutory weekly earnings limit (nor do I think the 20 year max). HPE contracts were supposedly more generous.

I’ve heard similar, account team or manager has approved the VR when approached by the program team but the individuals have heard nothing yet, myself included. We wait......

is it on compulsory terms?

For those asking....

You get an email with a zip file containing the various documents. For ex es people you print, sign and scan and send via an HR ticket. You're then on garden leave the next day unless they need you to work longer.

Still nothing heard, and I applied right at the start. Are people actually being told ‘no’ or just left guessing?

wouldn't it be nice if HR could give a rough idea on where they have got to, like up to 1050 out of 2300, and based upon history of doing this a timetable, for the remainder, hopefully before July 8th!! as those waiting need to get on with planning their working lives

It'll be sent by Elemail. We are "digital", don't you know. It will be sent using Bionix, probably. Hence the delay.
