Word is CTL will not even show up for Bargaining meetings, with the hopes that CWA pulls the workforce and calls a strike. In Affect terminating Their employment with CTL. Scary stuff, I feel bad for the people who work there!

Sounds like this is purposefully poking the bear.... but here we go. There are many companies trying, and few actually breaking the unions (at massive costs to their bottom line and profits.) If Union Strong was what it once was, members from one union (ironworkers, operators, carpenters, telco, etc) would support their fellow union folks and help propagate the pressure on companies, ensuring we all get better treatment. For example, if telco is on the table, no telco company buildings get built by ironworkers, operators, carpenters, etc or even maintained, from flooring, electrical issues, plumbing issues, etc until the telco union gets a desired contract. And in return, if ironworkers are on the table, no phones or internet gets connected to those companies, no carpenters build their walls, no electricians set foot on the property, no floors go in via union flooring companies, etc. THAT is where we have the strength, and UNION STRONG. We need to remember that and drive that fact hard to the company tables.
They will let systems go up and down for MONTHS without changing batteries, causing hundreds of customers to lose DT/DSL periodically throughout the day. it went for almost a full year at one pair gain. Hey but there's no longer a need for pair gain technicians right? eliminated the slot entirely. in many cases the battery's split the fluid flows out of the cabinet and leaches right into the ground !!
Or you have buildings that the generator is non operational and unable to economically repaired. Solution? place a bunch of batteries on the floor stacked on top of each other surrounded by cardboard installed by toothless contractors from some southern place or another.....that's the second line of backup its a real sight to see....
And they talk about us fixing something !!! They know the truth too.
They have been aware for years, some of the batteries in the plant have a re call and are defective, but they don't want to pay the labor in contractors and equipment to replace the strings just a one by one as they fail and leak acid on floors.
Call it in and they don't even dispatch as a Emergency, it can wait till someone can get to it.
They just got a 39 million dollar fine for not maintaining battery records and doing required routines, so they are well aware the batteries are not being maintained.
@Zq1sn5I-5ihq "Maybe if you guys fixed something, it would get better?"
Well if that statement made there was an SRO it would be something but examine this post closer.....it is Absolutely an A.O.M. who has come here to poke the hornets nest!!! Sure Mr./Mrs. AOM.. Ill play along with your baited question. Maybe if we fixed something? WE? How about this? instead of trying that failed ploy, how about YOU GUYS FIX SOMETHING? For starters how's about our antiquated failing plant? How about we start there? Instead of your plan, how's about when we send tickets back to cable, you actually have them FIXED? no no much easier to send cable techs out into the field and have them ROLL PAIRS out of count, re-route whatever it takes ? except of course actually digging it, up or replacing it that is ?
Give that Customer a nice paid cell phone with a 3 year contract!!!! that will work. Why bother with building facilities in NEW COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS.? run some drops and put up a few NIDS instead !! what's that you say it used to have a 25 pair obt? tough its abandoned, now use drops instead. not just one customer mind you 7 of them come to mind as I type.
What's that you say lightning damage has occurred and cables are un-useable? How about you run some cat 5 through the woods to bypass that bad section we will fix it later?? 4 years later still on ground been scotch locked 4 times IPC'D 4 times and yet not a dime spent. How about those systems out there where all the batteries are bad? And you have eliminated the job that kept pair gains in operation so no ones at the helm? EPA should be called from battery acids leaking out of cabinets leaching into the ground.. The systems go up and down routinely because of batteries YOU ARE AWARE and have done LITTLE TO NOTHING to repair this
How about YOU GUYS FIXING something or at least keep it where we can do our jobs !!!! I see you baiting and waiting, baiting and waiting. Be careful AOM/SRO's someone may get the bals to spell it all out, with names and instances !! Cuz guess what? Your level 3 handlers are here too !!! they know how to read too.....you are not in the high castle you can be taken down as well...……….
so in answer to your comment...…..HOW about you fix things so we can do our jobs....haven't even touched your c-ap dispatch system or a wide array of other items that could be brought here for Jeff and his minions to read careful what you wish for
Maybe if you guys fixed something, it would get better?
Can you say....”would you like Fries with that”?
Just a heads up, Wal Mart is hiring........
last statement certainly rang true in central florida …..NON UNION has been paid more than union in 2 areas of the District
Union weakness...non union gets better benefits and better pay these days.
Union strong will make it happen they never folded like a rag before
the "Pre Bargaining" comment brought to you by either an AOM or an SRO no doubt at all
Not in pre bargaining, no word has come from the company about bargaining. No contract is a possibility.
They know many can not take the loss of even one paycheck, that is why they have no fear with standing their ground.
No facts just rumors and pot stirring.
Well they are currently in pre bargaining negotiations, with both sides attending. So it’s exactly what was said a “Rumor” and a bad one at that.
Well lets see Here in central Florida the last 2 contracts took over a year, and almost 2 years on last contract !!!! ....No back pay etc, They seem to have abandoned the contract negotiation that is currently being decided in another central Florida area …. we have read here in other post how they are lagging up to 18 months in many cases to come to terms...……..
Whose dreaming id--t? And why would anyone want this to happen? and then dream for it? jerk. Prima Donna think like you friend you enjoy the fun and games ….
There will be bargaining and a new contract. Keep dreaming id--ts!
Rolling eyes
Oh course ctl will the workers and union have zero bargaining power at this point. They all need to go...
