Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Donations to the Local Communities

Wow, how many hours were spent on this project, as I have been advocating this for over 6 years?

Now.....the message is, "this is for your local communities".....no it is not, if it is boxed up, put on your CVS truck, and sent back to your distribution center, it will go to the distribution center's communities.

Does anyone complain besides me?

We noticed it showing up saying to donate food items. Then our boxes and tape showed up. Looks like CVS is finally doing something good. Although I'm sure either someone complained or the cost of garbage pickup has gone up.

It's a great thing that Ive hoped we would do for years now. Whatever reason, I'm happy

@ Big Ed: I sure as hell did and the grass IS greener on the other side. The way CVS treats their employees makes Wags look like heaven. (And I was a 9-year loyal, FT employee not some 16 y/o kid)

We have been donating to local food bank for a couple of years every since our then Region Mgr set up the program. If it said to trash but in date or even opened and could be used they got it. Now we get a video and all this slick materials, labels and boxes. CVS does dot believe the KISS method.

Let them fire me and the 5 others who documented as well. Can't wait to read the headlines, especially in my state with a huge advocacy for and currently its food bank donation awareness month ran by NBC.

Oh yes they were, since being donated to non profit there is no liability regarding expiration dates and $1,000s in tax write offs wasted.

My brother has been bugging me to give him the list from corporate plus pictures, carts full of food and the food destroyed in dumpster. Documented on a weekly basis for 4 months.

You get your facts right, research, policies change all the time. You must know that if your employed by CVS.

What are you even talking about. Prior to now sending these items back to warehouse for donations, no store was allowed to give these items to a charity. Please know what you are talking about, stores were not assigned to give donations individually, they had to go to the trash. So before bashing your sm perhaps know the policies as you would be terminated for not destroying the damaged items, until now!

Each store in our district was assigned a non profit food bank to donate pulled and expired groceries. Aftrer pulling 3 to 5 carts full of food SM would damage out then put food in trash bags, add water and smoosh, then to the dumpster.

This sickened all his employees and the church, which is across the street, a residential street and runs the non profit food bank we were assigned to.

Not only a waste of tax write off but truly affected our community. After 2 hurricanes grocery chains sent their donations to help out. This left many local food banks empty.

SM has no conscious, he is a sick shady person who's been with cvs over 27 years. It's sad, corporate assigned these food banks but SM said, didn't like people getting things for free.

It's STAGGERING the amount of waste at cvs! The only "donating" cvs does of ANY products is to the back of a garbage truck!

Most will go in the dumpster behind the DC.

Why do you think they want us to send the hallmark credits back to dc when hallmark owns the cards? Cvs donates them for a ten percent tax write off. Pretty slick when they don't own the product and hallmark wants the credits in the trash

Really? There’s so much more important stuff to complain about. At least it’s getting donated somewhere instead of to the local landfill.

I thought some of you were jumping across the street to Walgreen's where the grass is greener?
