Thread regarding Pearson PLC layoffs

Those laid off are/will be the lucky ones

The ones who stay will have to live with the same uncertainty we've been living with for the past several months AND will have to pick up all the work that'll still have to be done and was previously performed by folks who were shown the door. At no extra pay, of course.

So yes, I believe those who leave with severance and find a job at a better company (and chances are they will) will be better off.

Well said. HigherEd was a toxic environment- I worked too hard for too little and ended up nearly k--ling myself for a job that didn’t matter. I’m so much happier and better off since last year! You’ll all be fine and land on your feet. :)

It's the most toxic company I have ever worked for. How the management at the very top gets by year after year without getting canned is beyond me.

The annual fear of layoffs since 2013 was hell. The actual event yesterday was actually a relief. I stayed for the people. The company has not valued me or anyone in years.

Leaving with my c-appy severance will go down as the single best thing to happen to me professionally. Living with fear became my way of life. No more.

FREE AT LAST!!!
