Arm Chair Managers - Selfish

Over the last few weeks, I’ve seen the new Organisational Charts in the Departments. Arm Chair Managers Aka Bozos, are purely distributing numbers on a spreadsheet to make the span of control work. Instead of cleaning up the place properly, they have made sure that they have protected themselves first, and redistributed the others and on they way let go some and promoted/hired others. I now it doesn’t make sense to the friends we have lost!

After careful and considerable analysis, the conclusion reached is the Ford leadership is only trying to manipulate the stock market. Meaningful and substantive change was never a goal.

Yesterday my three year old granddaughter was hiding all her broccoli in her napkin. I asked her why she said so Mommy will give me ice cream. It struck me that Ford leadership is like my granddaughter, brief reward ,,,,, the napkin contents are always discovered , and Mommy is not happy.

@mzr my LL5 the same. She told me she got LL6 by cozing up to old male LL5 about to retire, stroking his ego. Then he recommended her for his LL5 position when he retired. She laid out her plans for unseating the LL4 and taking his place. She also gave me suggestions of old male LL5s to approach to be my mentor so I can be promoted. SMH when I told my husband he told me I had better be looking for another job because if I don’t select a mentor and follow the LL5s scheme, I will be disposed of.

Responding to the most recent reply. Totally agree with you. I have seen many “knob” polishers so to speak that are only after self preservation & promotions. The top leaders & company love this as they are applauded for doing nothing. Then the ones that have the passion and work their butt off and do the right thing are the ones that are punished. I wish I could name & shame here. It will be well worth it.

To the poster about the manager friend that wants the cushioned LL4 job. I hate pukes like that. They care nothing about the employees (developmental, advancement, etc.). They just stone wall and are greedy s---s on the system. And the people below them have no recourse. HR is not an advocate of the working class. If you were to confront this puke, she would pull the female card and probably report you to HR for microaggression. The only thing the worker can do is the bare minimum to maintain employment. Implement the trim 40-45 hr work week, and do not point out errors in your leaders plan. Let Rome burn per say, because they will not advance you for making them look good. They will only take credit and move to that cushioned LL4 job. The company with their promotion criteria have created by far some of the worst leaders ever. No merit, entitled, careless, wreckless, inexperienced, and endangering to the public safety. Look at all the recalls, and no one ever gets fired or demoted for screwing up. They just make a PowerPoint about it, present it to the VP and get promoted.

You could power the entire metro Detroit area with all the wind the leadership team is blowing.

Nothing was accomplished. They will be staffing up again

Exactly! Just shows the SRD is all Smoke & Mirrors, just to convince the investors that Ford has done something to increase the Stock Price. People like that should be the first ones out.

Good comment OP. My manager was a friend and made it clear that her her goal was to be an LL4, she really didn't care where. Had discussions on which departments it would be easiest to be an LL4. She kind if assumed I was the same. Kind of a sad person.

What about the team member on the 1st floor cleaning his fingernails with a pocket knife during the stand-up meeting? Member was reported & nothing happened?
