Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Lot of WFRs on May 31

I just heard that a lot of WFRs are going to happen tomorrow May 31 in AMS, apparently US. Notifications needs to happen today and managers are dealing with dates, swaps, etc. Just crazy.

I got pushed out the door and I am actually happy about that, because of I had to go anyway so at least I get some tiny severance package. will the project survive? I think not since most are sent home and the picks were obviously done by some guy high above, without a clue of who is doing what, and who is critical to the project. If it crashes though it will only be the natural selection of the fittest, with a corporation that took a short term dead end trajectory.

When you get no raise at all, year after year, and lose purchasing power while expected more and more work, you quickly go into minimum output mode.

wen the plan is to buy startups , fire most the workers, and milk current customer contracts until they leave unsatisfied, and then repeat with new startups, it cant go on forever...

Take advantage of "unlimited" days off because of once laid off your balance is ZERO.

Remember that every year without a raise is worth around 3% of purchasing power lost - you lose money.

meanwhile the layoffs, i heard ML got 5 Millions in bonuses (is it true?)

My last day was today. Saw several others get notified too. Frankly, I'm relieved. This place is toxic. If you're still there, take advantage of their "unlimited vacation" program right away and take as much as you can. The name sounds nice until you realize they screw you on your way out the door (and you will be out soon enough) since you don't technically accrue vacation anymore.

@ZjHOGY3-1shx Who cares that you are billing at 100%, whats happening behind is DXC is giving clients BIG discounts because things are not going as fast as they should.

Co worker received notification yesterday that time card was filled out by an authorized user for yesterday and today. It was by the manager and then later the manager removed the time. Also found out when trying to put vacation hours in a couple weeks from now that coworkers personnel number is not active from those dates onward. Coworker has yet to be notified of wfr. What a joke!

After numerous scares, I'm still at DXC and still billing 100%. I've never been ill and have great client feedback, so what gives?

Well yes, it does sound like I'm being smug, and it would be if I hadn't had the shock of being told I was to be WFR'd .

No-one came back to carry on the WFR after the initial HR call, so I was just left in limbo. I carried on billing in the hope all would be OK. A month or so later, I was still a bit scared and confused but I felt relief I still had a job.

However, then it gradually dawned on me just how stupid I had been to think I'm safe .....It did take some time for realisation and anger to sink in (how dare they!!) , so since then, I've been preparing with re-training in spare time etc.

I'm still billing and covering my pay, but now I think I'm happy to be WFR'd, I've prepared myself and have savings to tide me over if needed.

I know DXC will lose money getting rid of me - so bring in on baby, I'm ready - hope you are too.

Just proves even more what kind of company they are by laying off 1000s on a Friday. Shameful

Promise made to wall street and they will need to make it happen even if it means customers are shafted. So short sighted it’s like a bad dream. I feel sorry for all of the new hires who came here to lead something “transformation” my $&@.

As for me, I can’t take it, i am out of here next week.

I haven't heard anything yet.... My manager was more worried for his own job than his staff as he thought they were targeting managers rather than technical staff.

I thought I was going to get RIFed today based on some things my manager said. I guess I survived today. Not sure if I am happy or sad. Very stressful thinking you are getting RIFed and it doesn't happen.

And, they have notified a bunch of people that tomorrow is their last day, then changed their minds. They can't even manage a RIF properly. Depressing
