You will probably find that after you are retired the "Enroll in Retiree Health Benefits" will be missing from your home page at My Ford benefits.com. You will

have to call NESC where a person you are showing as "terminated" and not retired. You will have to explain nicely that you are indeed retired and entitled to retirement benefits. It take someone in the "back office" 1-2 weeks to move you from terminated to retired

I am retiring and have already started the paperwork. NESC and the SIRP documents said that people eligible to retire can do so effective June 1st. If you have earned retirement you are entitled to it. If you hired after they stopped offering pensions and you are vested you are likely owed a lump sum from the company funded 401k that replaced the pension. These were cost cutting separations which is different from being fired for cause.

Yes Alight has some transition issues. Several of us were surprised to see that we had never made pension contributions despite having done so for decades. You have to open a case, and then stay on top of them. I found opening a daily chat window with them politely asking status seems to move things along.

Each case I have opened takes 5-7 business days to resolve, 3 business days with a daily chat window.

But that is more responsive than Ford HR has been. Black hole there, and zero acknowledgement of receipt of questions. One has to escalate up the chain, and then get a snippy response. I am sure they will have opportunities to perfect this firing game

I'm not sure where they are from but they may be from a new company (Albright). It was poor planning to migrate the system when laying off hundreds.

I needed back office support to get my pension going right away. I called daily and got my request prioritized. I tried to be as friendly as possible
