Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

One last rodeo.

Anyone cheering for one last strike before the eventual fall of the copper giant?

No not everyone is a so called troll or management craft 15 years

if you are IBEW chances are you have no strike fund if you are CWA

you get $200/week starting on the 15th day (if funds available per contract) your healthcare continues as long as you pay full amount no company subsidies

"Good idea everyone go out you might want to check with your union power to see what your strike fund is I’ll say it is Zero or the mighty union says what is that, so yeah go on strike for no reason make sense"

There are a boat load of reasons, and the Fund is never meant to replace you paycheck. A Union represented person would know this so it is evident you are a Troll or Management flunky.

"Pointless. They would love that. You would be assured to be out even quicker. Ever been on strike here? You may want to ask your rep what they pay you on strike. It's not even enough to feed your family, let alone pay household bills. "

They ask you to save up if they are heading towards a strike to weather it for about 4 to 6 weeks, seems many don't understand that you SACROFICE something short term for long term improvements, If you expect a full paycheck it is obvious you don't know enough about what Unions do and their history of how things changed for the better.

That or your a Troll trying to use scare tactics.

Last strike was 20 years ago because our union was busy making back door deals.

The time to strike was several contracts ago. We have very little power now. They have reduced Installs so much Into the consumer side of the business on purpose just for this fact in my opinion. Reduce our numbers, reduce what we are effectively here for, and then smack us like a fly.

Seeing a lot of the companies decisions like stepping over neighborhood after neighborhood, not putting GPON into areas where we would have like 75% penetration, it was all done on purpose. They have a plan, and we're not part of it. Everything they are doing, no matter how id--tic and stupid it seems to us at ground level is done intentionally to achieve their ultimate goal.
