Talk in the tower late last night about this being a possibility. Apparently Amazon pulling out dropped rents and the options for a new satellite HQ is needed for sales and trade shows. I cannot imagine anyone willingly wanting to transfer out to NY from ES. It's like cow in a slaughterhouse asking to be next in line.

Lol! This is just a jealous swipe against the several ex-NY FP employees who have now gone to work for Floozie at Spin. They’ll get what’s coming to them when they finally realize Floozie is just an angry person bent on revenge against the world when she was heavy. She’s got no talent (just look at the stupid deals she’s done at Mattel and Spin).
But you farmers in EA should know you’d be better off in NYC then on a ranch Mattel is about to sell.
Mattel is still paying the lease on the old NYC office, maybe they should move people into that empty space that we are already paying for. mo--ns!
NYC really looked foolish with how they handled the Amazon HQ2 deal.
No word on whether or not there will be a design staff or if it's only for sales but I can see why NYC was closed. They weren't producing any licenses worthwhile and they hadn't had effective management to right the ship in years. LIC is considerably cheaper than Manhattan and apparently the city of NY is scrambling to fix the mess that was left in amazons wake. Incentives and tax abatement's abound!
So just to review what has happened:

3 months ago they say on second thought let's move all the NYC brands to EA

Now close to a year after closing NYC they say, hey wouldn't it be great to have a NYC office again
This is pure comedy, you can't even make this stuff up. This has to be one of the most dysfunctional organizations on the planet. No wonder the stock is back down at $10.00.
Not fake. discussed at yesterdays status meeting. They are actively searching for a location to accommodate 60-100 employees. Apparently there are financial incentives to help offset the current downhill slide.

Dear lord, this has got to be one of these most embarrassing 180 degree reversals I've ever heard. How is Mattel even still operational with the endless mo--nic decisions made by leadership. No question they will be bankrupt soon.
I can confirm this is true. All licensing will also be moved back.
