I'm an embedded contractor with APC. I respect APC, and have done very well with them as an embedded contractor. With 30 years in the patch, APC hired me due to my experience level in all O&G sectors. My work hours are flexible, and the pay is top-rate. There are rumors that "OXY prefers company employees over contractors" (which flies in the face of the post-downturn O&G business model of cushioning company employees and liability), and "prefers to make all embedded contractors semi-company employees by paying them under a W2 model". Can anyone confirm or rebut these rumors? How does OXY treat embedded contractors with regard to pay/hourly rates? Thanks for your feedback,

OK, that's actually good in my case! Do they have any guidelines or common practices with regard to establishing hourly rates?
Gone are the days of collecting a day rate. You will be a W2 employee on hourly wages.
