I survived the layoffs but I was demoted along with many others. I will retain my current salary for one year. After that, it will be lowered to be compatible in the new lower salary range. When I retire, my pension will be lower as a result being based on the last 5 years of base salary. I am still being asked to perform the same job with the same responsibilities. I was working 9-10 hour days without overtime. I was planning to retire in a few years. Staying will not be better for me.
Has this really been happening? Is this legal? This seems blatantly wrong on every level. Is there anything to be done in these situations?
