Thread regarding Ford layoffs

What happens to the army of the unemployed?

We can think positive all we want but the fact is that a lot of automotive employees have been laid off in a very short time frame. In other words, an army of ex automotive workers are hitting the job market and a majority of them are not going to be able to get another job in an industry that is changing and downsizing at the same time. Think that this has gone beyond the point of being a standard labour problem and is turning into a social problem. Good luch to us all. God knows we’re gonna need it.

Anyone visit the HF Museum over the weekend or review the project status of the Old Train Station downtown? I heard they found some vintage bottles after draining all the water from the basement & they will be on display. Hondo, you many of you know personally & his lady friend celebrated at the Indy 500.

If you like the automotive industry than SE Michigan is the place for you. But if you want to know what it is like to be an appropriated employee with an employer that actually cares about your well being you are going to need to go south. There you will find industries that are completely different than the stagnant auto suppliers/companies that are here in Michigan. Best of all the cost of living in the south is so much cheaper than the north.
