Meanwhile, as cuts are occurring in in the US, an upper level manager from the AP region has been delivering a presentation to his US teams showing photos of the newly built Chennai, India, building, it’s features (such as child care facility, canteen, etc), and boasting how 4400 new employees are going to be hired there. Insensitivity, anyone?

I’m from AP region. Ford putting a lot of eggs into the Chennai basket and the new “Global Technology and business Centre”.
There is an empire being built, and ultimately the decision to outsource skilled jobs here will be the death of Ford.
Wonder if the new Chennai building parking garages will be filled with Toyotas and Hondas, like the parking lots at ITEK and other Ford IT buildings. Looks like the “future of Ford” means a revision to the company’s popular bumper sticker. “I work for Ford, I drive a Honda” doesn’t have quite the same ring as the original version.
Maybe someone in iTEK said something about the fact that they felt like a minority walking around with nothing but Indians (on h1Bs) everywhere. Since the Trump admin have shown to be strong supporters of hiring Americans first and H1Bs visas are getting harder to procure having them work there vs here would make sense.
That's the future. I hear CEOs & VPs work for much less there...will we be outsourcing Ford's senior management to save money?
