Various segments of the Provider Services departments with United Healthcare have been told in rolling meetings that the skill queue was being downsized as it as moving in a different direction. The reason, providers are using the website UHCProvider.com more than they are calling in.
I am certain, claims will be having these meetings in time because the majority of the work the website goes overseas to India.
We were told there are other departments that would be willing and able to pick us up, however, the company will not assist us in getting these positions. Moving around in United Healthcare is next to nill impossible. Many of us have multiple years, some decades working in provider services. We do not necessarily stay by choice. We are paid something resembling a living wage, and many of us work from home. These are perks that are not readily found on the outside.
The share holders did this about 15 years ago. The only reason they brought back American jobs is because the big hospitals, i.e. Weill Cornell, Mayo Clinic etc. b--ched about having to deal with Indians and threatened to pull their contracts. The share holders have succeeded this time. Pure technology with no offensive accent to get in the way.
In the mean time, over 500 reps are in the dark.
