Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

So many people still letting DXC use them

I'm not talking about those lucky few who have very little to do and get paid well to sit on their behinds most of the day.

I'm talking about so many who are paid well under industry standards, have barely any benefits, and are expected to do the work of two or three people every single day.

Why those people stay is beyond me. I was in a similar position and quit a year ago. Got better job, better pay, better benefits...everything is better. I still visit here occasional and it saddens me to see that not only have things not changed, they've gotten worse.

I hope more people wake up. It would be fun to see how DXC leadership would handle a mass exodus.

People's reasons for staying are very individual. They're not all "asleep" and needing to "wake up." Some have good reasons why rocking their job boat isn't wise at the moment, and the danger of ending up unhired for any period of time is not a risk their family can afford. Others genuinely like the job where they are and with the group they're in, and they hope for some big overdue changes at the top to put the company on a real course to improvement as a business and as a human organization. They may end up having been naive or unwise, or not. Staying is what they feel they need to do at the moment, and that's a choice they're making fully awake. Perhaps a few are asleep and need to wake up and find something else.

@ZcwHZEr -- Some of us stay because we are north of 45 and finding a job is next to impossible.

Some of us are NOT tech and work on the service side. This means that we don't have the skills or potential access to jobs like those with tech skills. I for one have tried to learn to code multiple times in multiple ways but I just cannot get past the very basics so I am screwed.

I am constantly looking for another job but it is hard when you are over 45 and have medical limitations.

They'll handle it the same way they're handling everything else, outsourcing to India for cheap.
