All we talk about is how much we HATE coming to this place. Every day there’s call outs. Nobody wants to be here. There’s no incentive, no future, no plan. We just work our shifts like it’s our last. Just get through the shift and get out. Our regulars are coming in less and less. I have an interview tomorrow at a fast food restaurant. It used to be a big deal to be a Bookseller. Not anymore.

I left too. Have a much better attitude toward going to work now. Not all places are run like BN.
I left a year ago, never looked back. Whenever I’m about to nag about something at my current job, I think about my time at B&N and feel instantly grateful. I don’t have to clean up explosive diarrhea, I don’t have to worry about having my hours cut because I didn’t sell enough memberships, I don’t feel like my work place is falling apart... Good luck
People get jobs at our cafe- learn everything they need to know, then QUIT and go to STARBUCKS where they make BETTER MONEY and get GREAT BENEFITS!
It's really hysterical the amount of time and money wasted on training. CORPORATE IS SO STUPID!!!!

While I understand what you’re saying. Most view fast food as the lowest form of employment. The real take away from the post is : things are so bad at BN employee is willing to go to fast food to get out of the bad situation.
