Please do not believe that your age (55) will hold you back from getting another good job. As long as you are confident in using technology (which I'm guessing you are if you've spent the last couple decades employed) you are a valuable addition to the workforce. There are tons of jobs out there. As a HR hiring executive I tend to find my candidates on Indeed and LinkedIn (or use a recruiter for strategic hires). Try to rest easy and enjoy some sunshine over the next couple weeks. You will be employed soon!

I was terminated yesterday and I still can't sleep knowing I need a job as the severance pkg isn't enough to support me and my family. But who is going to hire me given I'm past the prime age of 55? Thanks Ford for a wonderful conclusion to my 30 year career. Guess it's time to check out employment options at Walmart.
