Thread regarding Ford layoffs

This is just the way things are right now

I’m not justifying any of this, and I’m certainly not supporting anything that this leadership does, but this is just the way things work in today's economy. I doesn’t take for one to look any further than a couple of discussion boards of other companies on this site to see that people are facing the same problems and are treated in the same manner as we are. Is it fair, Of course it’s not. Could it have been done differently? Sure it could have, but that’s just the way things are. We have only a choice weather we will put our efforts into surviving this situation and try to be the best we can, or stress out about it. Not much of a choice, I know, but at this point, that’s all we’ve got.

At my company this goes on all the time, people are let go for poor performance, especially if you are 50 and older. No matter how much work you do or how well, some sh--head manager grades you down. When they want you out, it's going to happen, nothing u can do. However, my whole goal is to eliminate spending on anything. I enjoy the simple things in life, I don't need to work at some automotive company to have money.
