Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Fake iPhone security alert pop ups on this site!

I just got a pop up security alert on this site that my phone was hacked.

It’s bogus. Hit “close” and it takes you to a site that says I have 2 minutes to fix. A countdown clock starts. I’m told to click a link to fix it. When I click, I’m redirected to a bogus security app on Apple’s App Store

Ignore all this.

“It’s a trap, Luke!”

Yes, we know how ads work. You don't need to disable popups. You need a f—ing adocker.

"It's 2019 and you're browsing without an ad blocking extension?"

It's on my phone which doesn't allow popups. So technically it wasn't a popup -- it look like one but it you could see the rest of the web page behind it (but much more faintly). I don't know how they fiddled with the html for the page.

I followed up my post above with an email and screenshots to contact email for thelayoff.com

They replied and said their security people were on it.
