Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

The stress has hit the roof at my store

Any other locations that are severely understaffed? Folks are leaving and nobody is being hired. So, basically we’re overloaded with work and it looks like there is no end to this situation. Any other locations facing the same issues?

Well maintenance at my store there's me and only someone else on days and the amount of things we got to clean and maintain keeps on piling up due to the company adding too much work it becomes very stressful and very tiring .

Some stores in my market are a mess. Which is good for my store because all the attention is on the red stores. Problem is stores in our market need help. So every store had to send 3-4 overnight associates plus an assistant with 3 associates to get a store ready for inventory. So the other stores will go backwards because we're forced to send help. Ridiculous. We had a power outage on Sunday night. Pulled everything into walk in freezers and coolers and the two trailers we had sent to our store. The next day we still had to send an assistant and 3 associates while the rest of us struggle to recover our store

Associates don't care anymore. They've been pushed too far and they're giving up. Some are leaving the company altogether.
All of the stores, that I've seen, look like sh–. There are many empty spaces on shelves, freight is sitting around on carts and there are very few associates to work it.
This company's new processes are putting the stores in the toilet and producing associates that are overwhelmed and stressed out.
Many years ago when I started with this company it was a decent place to work.
That's not true anymore.

I am a pharmacy manager for WM, they are turning over the entire staff to hire the cheapest possible labor. Pharmacy and GM side, same deal....It's all part of their plan.

This is how my store has been for over a year now. They have been making us in claims zone and work freight on top of the more to the floor program. And then yelling at us because the deleted bin is full. This place is going to sh*t!!

MY store is a disaster. There is nearly as much freight in receiving as there is on the salesfloor. Pallets are staying on the floor all day because there is no room in receiving to place them while they are being worked. Apparel looks like a disaster zone. The dept. managers can't work the clothing racks because pallets are blocking them and there is no where to move the pallets to. Modulars that are 3-4 weeks late, price changes that are 6+ weeks late, no people to zone. Everyone is working freight including management 24 hours solid and cannot get caught up. We are mentally and physically worn out.

Sounds like my location - seems like the store has about half as much staff as it did at this time last year. They say they're hiring but I haven't seen anyone new, maintenance often has to push carts (sometimes stockers too), customers are complaining because it is difficult or impossible to find help.
