Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Getting tired of this

Constantly worrying about possible layoffs is getting really tiresome - it has long been affecting office morale and productivity, but it is now also starting to affect my mental health. This much stressing is not healthy.

Any ideas on when we might get a semblance of job security back?

Lol most big companies don’t give 2 shots about there employees. The only ones that do are small companies. There’s not a place out there that is immune to layoffs get over it and find a new job it is what it is.

Thats what happens when Xerox people get promoted to run the work of engineers and craftsman. They bleed the company with fake statistics as they squeeze funds for long term stability into a short term slush fund. Ruin peoples lives for the holy dollar. Good job you fake.

Hard for any shop to recover from two sets of back to back shop and assistant managers who run the place in the dirt.

SHUT bellevue down...those people dont know how to fight for their jobs or the work. They're good at pushing it off to other people. Bellevue is the black eye of NS anyways. I've been there and seen what goes on. Several bad management eggs and several bad crafts eggs with tons of finger pointing and bad mouthing. Its gonna spoil eventually and the bad are gonna ruin it for the good. Bellevue thank you in advance for the work since you can't get it together

I have forty years service with ns,retiring the end of the year,if the railroad was like it is today back when I hired on would have had about a months seniority, for all those laid off,do something else, this place doesn't care about you,it's not gonna get any better, take a look around you, other people are doing fine working else where.Greed rules and people are nothing to these guys, union s---s,they're just as bad, long as they get theirs they don't care

Well, we've been talking and waiting so here it is. Just came out of meeting and was informed they're closing Bellevue by August 1. Good luck everyone.

Go to counseling and get your disability, the company can't deny they harvest a negative environment for its employees that causes extreme stress. Watch out for the YES men around you they think they are going places for a company that doesn't care about them either.

This has always been the railroads way of life. This is not a family orientated business, not even an employee orientated business. Get with a company that's not shareholder driven and you will be rehabilitated .

If you have a skill to fall back on. Get out ! Get out now. The stress isnt worth it.

Right after “TOP 21” and “BOTTOM 24” and “REBUILDING 27” things should start to clear up
