You should be ashamed for ruining people and depriving them of their pensions. Good luck recruiting!

Maybe look at it like this. 1) You begin life by learning, gaining knowledge. 2) You take a job, several different jobs, 3) You now have this knowledge so you start your own business. 4) You sell business and retire. These days taking a job for someone else is basically a stepping stone, it's like going through your freshman year in highschool. Basically, it s---s!! You don't want to hang around like that for more than say 5 to 7 years. If your smart, educated and some what driven, why hang around at a JOB and be treated like c-ap!

It probably won’t affect recruiting in the short term. For the most part ford still has a decent reputation with the general public as an ethical place to work. And they used to be. It takes a while for reputation to align with reality.

"I doubt it will affect recruiting. New employees don’t get pensions, and have no expectation of a long term career in a particular company. They’ll keep looking for their next stepping stone company right after they join Ford."

Then when their in their mid to late 50's no matter where they hang their hat - without a pension - it's bye, bye.

They arent ashamed because among other things, they have 2 new data centers and a train station that they absolutely needed! What is a data center, 200 million, 250 million? What was the train station, 180 million (more or less)? Thats at least a half billion and it hasnt gone towards building a single car or truck. Billy and the family are sitting at home, sipping dom perignon and lamenting (in their best thurston howell III voice) that they didnt want to do it, but the poor workers had to be let go so that they could position the company for the future.
