Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Have Some Integrity

This is for the people who find it necessary to post untrue and inaccurate comments. I just want you to know who see’s your post. It’s the women and men like me who are at the bottom of our rosters wondering each and every day if it’s the last as we go through the door. It’s people who are in similar situations as me with a newborn baby at home and are the sole income earner. People that may have a sick mother with cancer that I worry about every second of the day. I just want you to keep that in mind when posting. Please have the decency to respect the people who gather as much info as they can to help their family understand what’s going on with their work. Your post and comments reach a lot of eyes. And some of the people behind those eyes a carrying a heavy burden that you might know of. Let’s not add anymore stress and fear to their lives with unnecessary and untrue post and comments.

Well how about this .. instead of going to b---s--- after your safety meeting why not go get your tools and go to work. Everyone takes there little 20 to 30 minute b---s--- session after the safety meeting. Look around you and to the 3 maybe 4 guys that actuAlly go rite to there tools and get harassed by everyone .. “ your gonna ruin it” or “you better make that job last” or “s--- a--” now you all are the ones crying. Take a second and think maybe if i didn’t take that 20 to thirty minute b---s--- session the work ratio would be up. Think about it.. all those guys not going rite to there tools and b---s---ting everyday adds up. Also no need to bring your personal life into this lay-off business. If your at the bottom of the roster I mean you have a skill go find another job that doesn’t give you stress or is it to easy to get paid union wages.... I’m a realist not an excuse maker. F--- NS .. f--- there management especially there college f--- boys who don’t know sh-- except how to by a car instead of work on one.. f--- employees who think they deserve anything ... wake up. Work .. home repeat .. and just hope it last .. if not .. onto the next ....

My heart goes to all that have been or will be affected by PSR. The powers to be report to shareholders and they look at progress if they made good progress toward the goal that quarter they spare cutbacks at that time. You don't do it all at once little gains toward the goal like a sales quota you blow it out of the water and your quota the next month increases to be almost un obtainable and you have no fruit to take to the shareholders. Now once the operating ratio meets expectations corporate greed usually sets in even more it is never ending in PSR. Anyone who works for NS knows they are always one of the last to jump on board and analyze the mistakes made by other railroads. It will continue to come in small spurts to aid in damage control and limit as much chaos as possible.

Today is the first day of the 3rd quarter. Also the first day of the top 21 plan roll out. Also the first day we all get a raise due to the new contract. You’d be a fool to think they aren’t going to lay off HEAVILY and EARLY in the quarter if for no other reason than to spread the gap of the before/after of the new plan.
