Thread regarding CVS layoffs

District Leader perspective here.

I agree with you and it’s frustrating at my level too. A lot of the struggle is that store level management is uncomfortable with identifying the root of the issue and disciplining.

In almost every situation in my district, it takes me to intervene and it can take me months to actually identify the root issue because I’m not working in the store everyday.

So.. I work at a small town CVS. The 3rd week of July in 2018 we did 1300 scripts. Last year we had roughly 80-90 tech hours. We have 39 tech hours the 3rd week of July 2019. Is this ever going to end? Are they ever going to give us the hours we need just to survive?! I have been watching out for other jobs, but being in a small town there are not many options, I’m the lead tech, inventory specialist, and only full time tech in the store, not to mention we only are allowed to use 22 of our 113 front store hours. Is there anything that can be done about this?!?!? Our customers complain to corporate, but we get accused of asking the customers to call, or it’s how we are wording our situation. People ain’t stupid! Their eyes are wide open when they come into our store. We do not tell them anything at all, they call on their own will. I’m at wits end! I don’t know what else to do? Can someone please tell me if things are going to change. Or is there something I can do about other stores using our front store hours? Please help CVS! My liver depends on it!

CVS no longer has the corporate merchandising talent . The buyers strongarm vendors for money. No regional merchandising or buying. What is good in Rhode island is good in Nevada. Stores are boring and uninviting, producing low sales.

That is the root cause of front store sales.

Not going to change either. Any new program will be a shell game with investors like rx delivery or curbside.

Either ride it out or jump now....it is going down.

Agreed staffing issues are the cause of alot of these problems!

Root cause is usually staffing. I walk in to the dollar store and they have more people working. That's pathetic. This is a pharmacy! What the hell do I know though, I'm only here 60 + hours a week to pick up the slack. This place is a disgrace.

There is a simple solution. CVS should not have purchase AETNA, and; 2) brought back the true "DM" of retail. With that, they would still be thriving.

Most of the issues go back to the same root cause: inadequate staffing in our stores.
